All these dogs are looking for their forever homes with Pawprints Dog Rescue

 Pod

Pod

3-year-old, male

Lurcher

My name is Pod and I am a beautiful lurcher. I am around 3 years old and originally came into rescue as a stray from the pound. I do not really know any basic commands so further training would be beneficial and am currently trying to learn recall but this is hit and miss depending on what else is going on around me, and for this reason, I need to be walked on a lead/long line and off lead exercise needs to be done in an enclosed/secure area only. I can live in a home with another well-matched dog but can sometimes be a little too enthusiastic at playtime so would need to ensure that I am not too full on with the resident dog when we engage in play. I would say I am a fun loving dog and would bring lots of love and energy into any home and am ready and waiting to find my humans.

Willow

***Reserved***

Willow

18-months-old, female

SBT X Ambull

My name is Willow and I am desperate to find a new home. A lady should never divulge her weight but I am a healthy 25kg (maybe a little too healthy as the humans have put me on a bit of a weight plan to my disgust) and I am around 2 years old. I love to play, and I am an excellent noseballer , that’s right you heard me I could give those footballers a run for their money and I will nose a boomer ball around all day if I had the chance and will entertain myself for hours.
I know basic commands such as sit and paw and I am fully house trained, unfortunately, I can’t say the same for recall so need some help in that area. I can get a little bit excited when I first go out for a walk and can pull on the lead so I need a strong human to walk and to encourage me to lose lead walk. I have not travelled much by car so I am a little unsure of them so I need some time to get used to car journeys but from what I have heard they take you to the most fantastic places so I am very willing to learn. I am looking for a lively home with lots going on, lots of walks, playing and of cause time spent spoiling yours truly. I would like my humans to provide me with lots of enrichment both mental and physical and I love to learn new things so more training would be great. Whilst I am dog-friendly I would prefer a home with no other dogs, cats or furries as I like my human attention and I don’t really want to share them with anything else. I would love a garden to play in and do a bit of sunbathing during the summer months. I will need to be walked on a lead/long line and off lead exercise needs to be done in an enclosed/secure area only.

 Weasley

Weasley

Male, 3-years-old

Lurcher

My name is Weasley and I arrived at Pawprints after not being claimed at the pound. I am around 3 years old. I am very nervous of everything apart from other dogs and when playing with them I forget about being scared of the world and this is when I am having the most fun. I don’t know any basic commands and as I am very nervous I need to be walked on a lead at all times and will need my humans to give me time to bond with them and not to rush me. I have no history so I cannot tell you if I am toilet trained and what my life was like before arriving here but I don’t think my experiences with humans has been very good and for this reason I need to spend time gaining some confidence before rushing into new situations or experiences. I am looking for a very quiet home with another dog or dogs that can help build my confidence. I don’t want to share my home with children or any other small furries as I need my humans to be able to focus on my needs and have time to help me build my confidence. I do not know many commands so my humans will need to work with me in this area which will help me to bond and trust my humans as I have no recall I need to be walked on a lead/long line and off lead exercise needs to be done in an enclosed/secure area only.

Victor

Victor

Male, 12-years-old

Sharpei X Corgi

My name is Victor and I arrived at Pawprints after not being claimed at the pound. I weigh a healthy 15kg and am around 12 years young. I may be an older gentleman but don’t be fooled that I am in my twilight years as there is still plenty of bumbling left in these legs. I can be a bit of a loner at times and am happy with my own company, I don’t like to be picked up and cuddled, and only like human affection on my terms, so I need my humans to respect my boundaries, and I do prefer the ladies in my life so a new mum would be great. I do have a fun loving side but after years of not being treated very well I can be a little stuck in my ways but please give me time, and you will see what a great friend I can be. I am looking for a fairly active home where I can enjoy at least 2 good walks a day and time for a little game of fetch. I need humans that will be respectful of me and no little people and they may not understand that I don’t want cuddles and attention. I love my bed so my new home needs to make sure I have a nice big comfy one where a can snooze the afternoons away dreaming of chicken dinners. I can be a little ignorant when out walking and like to do my own thing and for this reason, I need to be walked on a lead/long line and off lead exercise needs to be done in an enclosed/secure area only.

Amaya

***Reserved***

Amaya

Female, 11-months-old

Terrier X

My name is Amaya and I arrived at Pawprints Dog Rescue after my previous owners thought I was being reactive in the home. I am only young and only little and new things and people can make me nervous sometimes and my previous humans did not understand my body language. Anyway since arriving in rescue I have met some lovely humans who understand me and have helped me build my confidence without pushing me. I can still be a little wary of new things so my new humans need to understand this and be patient with me and not push me
I am would prefer an adult only home so no children and no other animals, please. I need my home to be quiet but active and as I really want to learn new things so I need lots of positive training but at my pace. I have lots of energy so I am looking for an active home with lots of walks in the countryside where I can get both mental and physical enrichment.

Milly

Milly

Female, 6-months-old

Daschund

My name is Milly and I am a 6month old Dachshund. I am only young so I need training in all areas and love learning new things so mental enrichment is very important. I may be little but I have a very big personality, am energetic and can be a little feisty at times but I am also extremely affectionate, very intelligent and am fun-loving and playful. Some people say that Dachshunds can have a mind of their own and can be stubborn at times which I suppose I can relate to so I need humans that understand my breed and will encourage good behavior in a positive way. I need an active home with a lot of daily exercise, a minimum of an hour a day is necessary and if not given enough exercise every day, I may be a little naughty and develop some unwanted behavioral issues which includes suffering from separation anxiety. I would also like a garden to be able to run around in and let off steam. However, the fencing has to be very secure as Dachshunds are incredibly good at digging their way out under a fence when the mood takes them, bearing in mind their front legs are designed for these little dogs to be expert diggers, I am not saying I will but just preparing my humans.
I will also need to be groomed on a regular basis to make sure my coat and skin is kept in top condition. Jumping up on furniture or running up and down stairs can cause damage to a growing Dachshund’s spine so must be avoided at all costs to ensure I stay fit and healthy.
